New Release “Winterland Waltz” and a freebie for you!

Through the last few weeks alot has been going on and I feel like this kit took forever to complete, but I have found that the creative process does alot to help calm my spirit and help me process emotion. This beautiful kit was inspired by a poem about polar bears dancing in a winter wonderland type setiing, but to me it will always symbolize the process of mourning the loss of our loved ones and celebrating the joy of knowing we will see them again when we are finished with this life. If you want more info about what has been happening you can read more below in another post. For now I will show you the kit and give you the freebie. If you like the kit grab it while it’s on sale! 50% off for a limited time!

A time to celebrate, a time to mourn.

I often wonder why so many people die during the holiday times. Today was the funeral for my son’s paternal grandmother. She was a very dear and special woman who spent her life serving others, the Lord, her family and her church. In the 23 years I knew her, I never saw or heard her do a cruel or unkind thing. That in itself should tell you alot about who she was. She spent her “working years” as a nurse” and continued to serve through the church until shortly before her death.

But I often wonder why the holidays seems to take so many loved ones from us, my maternal grandmother passed on December 17, 1996 and my step-grandmother passed on Christmas Eve 1994. I loved the both dearly, and wonder if Christmas will ever have the same magic for me?

I still love Christmas time and value it as a time to share with family and friends in remembrance of the birth of my Savior, but there is a hint of sadness to each celebration now.

This will also be my first Christmas without my youngest child. He will be spending Christmas in Wisconsin with his wife and her family. And while this is something to celebrate, the joy of young love, of children growing up, of life moving forward, it will be strange without him. And probably very quiet I might add!

But I will do my best to celebrate each of the things that come to me, be they happy or sad. Because even sad things have a purpose and that is my cause for celebration. The loved ones lost, I celebrate that they are no longer suffering or in pain. The baby boy grown to manhood I celebrate his time to spread his wings and share the love of a very special young lady and another family who loves him. The Savior who died so that our lives may not be pointless things lost to a sinful life, but that in redemption through Him the way to a new and better life at the time of our death hear on Earth.

So yes, it is Christmas, and I will have my sad moments, but I plan to revel in the joy that comes with faith and knowing that the lost love ones will be seen again and that we will then have forever to celebrate each others company!

Thank you for taking the time to read this, may God bless you and keep you and I wish each of you a very Merry CHRISTmas!

What Inspires You? Digi Freebie Too!

What Inspires You?

We each have something that inspires us. Be we artist, musician, teacher, parent or something else we are all inspired in many ways everyday! So what inspires you? I really would enjoy seeing comments on this one! I personally can be inspired by almost anything … a song, the colors on the front of a magazine cover, a song, the sun slanting through the trees, a smile on the face of a child… my current digiscrap kit project is a gorgeous kit loaded with winter hues that was inspired by a poem in a  book that I read to my grandson. The poem is about Polar Bears waltzing under the winter moon and as I read it to him I visualized the most beautiful shimmering scenes. Each day I thank God for the talent he has blessed me with but I need to remember to also be grateful for the gift of inspiration. Inspiration literally means “God Breathed” … Wow! So tell me please what inspires you :D

And to finish off this post I have a gift for you, the second half of my free “Autumn Decadence” kit. A great kit for scrapping those beautiful fall scenery photos and Thanksgiving Memories! Hope everyone had a truly blessed Thanksgiving!

A new adventure…

Life is an adventure and a constant learning process. I believe if I ever stop learning it will be time for me to leave this Earth and move on to Heaven where there will be new things to learn. And I also believe that is we hoard our knowledge and don’t share what we have learned then the knowledge is wasted. With that said I am embarking on a new adventure!

I have been recruited as a teacher and tutorial writer/translator for the DigiDesign Resort Safari Lounge Designer Club where I will be sharing what I have learned about PSP, PSE and Photoshop as well as design over the last few years of my life and am sure that this adventure also offers a great deal of new lessons along the way. The biggest challenge I have faced so far is in translating tutorials intended for use with Photoshop to be compatible with PSP, which can be a real struggle because some of the tools and methods are so different. But I have learned a lot already, along with the fun of getting to learn a new program!!!

I love learning new programs and am in the process of learning to use Camtasia Studio for creating video tutorials; the hardest part of that is finding quiet time when I am not exhausted in a house with 2 young adults and a 3-year-old with special needs so that I have quiet to work on recordings… the weirdest part has been when I finally find my silence, getting over feeling like I am sitting in an empty room talking to myself  LOL

But all in all it is good, I am enjoying life, learning new things and sharing what I already know :D

I also set up shop in the store at DigiDesignResort … check it out I have a fabulous new release for those winter and Christmas photos along with some new designer tools released from my latest grab bag… and a 50% grand opening sale to top it all off :D I will be back in  day or two with more news and  a freebie:D

Divine News and a Freebie!

First off let me say Happy(i) Digital Scrapbooking Day to all my scrapping friends! I have a special treat for you at the end of this post :D If you are at all like me you spent more than you planned during all the great sales so my treat for you is a free mini in some really gorgeous Autumn colors :D

Exciting News! If you hadn’t heard one of the store I sell at was attached by a malicious hacker and was down for some time while that partners worked hard to get things going again… the EXCITING part is that they have got us back on line, the forum, gallery, and chat are functional, the Boutiques are being reloaded and we are back and will be better than ever!

I am co-coordinating a great challenge called “Take  A Second Look @ Divine” to remind you why we love Divine Digital. This will give you a chance to earn prizes and coupons, by creating layouts using kits you have purchased in the past from Divine Designers! Some of our newer designer are participating as well and will be offering mini’s for you to create with and will award participation prizes. The fun starts Monday November 9 so make sure to stop by Divine Digital and check out the challenge :D

I am starting my winter designs and this will be the last of my fall designs this year (there are two parts) Part one you can download free here, part two is a freebie I will be giving out in a few days. But I am very excited about the winter designs, I hate the cold and snow if I have to be outside, but I love Christmas and really enjoy sitting in a warm cozy spot watching children play in the snow! So keep your eyes open for the new release announcements!

And now for your freebie, hope you enjoy it, please leave me some love here on the blog if you like it!

Not So Spooky ~ Mini Kit Freebie

I am such a bad blogger! Seems like I am always behind on what I am supposed to be doing. But I am very excited, my sweet Daughter in Law Rose has fallen in love with Scrapping and design! With the generation gap it has been very good for us because it gives us something in common that we can share and have fun doing! We had a good laugh at the mall the other night when we realized we were both analyzing the things we saw thinking they would make great textures!!! Well that and flirting with the cute guy at the shoe store ;) LOL

Anyway we have a really cute “Not So Spooky” kit that we have collaborated on, we each did a mini kit and if you collect both pieces you will have a sweet  collection for scrapping your little ones Halloween festivities! My part is here:

Better late than never … Free Add-On

I have a cute freebie for you all that co-ordinates with my new “Spirit of Joy” kit. There is so much going on lately I am behind on my blogging, sorry about that. But with Dante back in therapy 3x  a week and trying to get him into pre-school, things have been a bit crazy here. We went to the local Pre-School screening a couple weeks ago, it was an like adventure in the worst part of Oz … screaming munchkins everywhere, and the one screaming the loudest and having the hugest tantrums was my darling Dante! But Praise the Lord there is a private screening set up with his teacher from last year and things should go much more smoothly with him in a familiar environment with someone he knows :D I am praying they will put him back in the STAR program where he was last year. For those who don’t know, the STAR program is a pre-school program for kids on the Autism Spectrum and it was an amazing success with Dante last year,so I would really love to see him back there this year! Anyway enough about us and onto the freebie!
